It has bugged me a complete day as some measurements which needed this attenuation to stabilize the input impedance for Port 2 failed by this 1dB. It seems like a Port level sensitive issue e.g. It can be provoked by reducing the nValues from 2 to 1 in the Advanced settings the it is toggling all the time. If I calibrate thru without the 20dB attenuator and afterwards insert the 20dB attenuation the problem still exist. Then it now and then jump by exactly 1dB. I did the following: Calibrated Thru with a 20dB attenuator inserted and observed afterwards the trace which is a flat 0 dB trace. When measuring transmission and a 20dB attenuation inserted between Port 1 and Port 2 then the trace shift by 1 dB alternating or by sudden jump.
